Are you a Electrical Controls Design Engineer with experience using Autodesk Inventor or similar, looking to join a company who are helping shape the future of electrical innovation, also offering an excellent work life balance and generous pay package?

This company is a long-established electrical equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, with over a century of engineering expertise. They specialise in the design and production of components used in power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as in sectors such as industrial automation, marine, telecoms, and rail. Supplying major contractors, OEMs, and end users across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, we are known for delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. This role sits within their load bank division, where you'll play a key part in the design and development of resistor systems used in high-performance applications.

In this role, you'll work closely with our engineering team to design and develop electrical equipment for industrial use, creating detailed wiring diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical and producing key documents like design overviews and resistor element sheets-all while ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards. You'll review and approve design work, manage updates through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and support processes such as CE marking, DFMEAs, and product testing. Alongside this, you'll troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide support to teams across Production, Sales, Service, and Customer Support. From start to finish, you'll take ownership of your projects, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. THE ROLE

Review design requirements & assist the engineering team with aspects of design and specification of materials
Produce design calculations and paperwork to manufacture designs
Produce and approve drawings and bills of materials
Conduct technical investigations, carrying out root cause analysis and initiate corrective action
Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support
Deliver projects on schedule and on budget
37.75 (standard hours are 8.15 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday, 8.15 to 13.00 Friday)THE PERSON

Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo or Siemens
IEC 60204 and 61439 design experience
Degree or HNC in related subject
Experience of the product CE marking process and DFMEA.REFERENCE:BBBH18975A
