Job Title: Electrical Designer
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)
Start Date: Immediate

My client is a rapidly growing clean energy innovator, providing hydrogen-powered solutions that deliver zero-emission electricity to support a wide range of industries. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven company with proven technology, a growing customer base, and a clear vision for impact.

The Role:
As an Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical systems for hydrogen-powered energy units. You’ll contribute to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing systems, working closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create 3D models, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and cable assemblies
• Generate manufacturing drawings, I/O lists, and Bills of Materials
• Translate technical concepts and sketches into detailed design documentation
• Contribute to product design strategy (DFX) and improve documentation processes
• Apply strict revision control and change management
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure design intent is understood and feedback is incorporated
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions
• Support and mentor engineering team members and technicians

Skills & Experience:
Required:
• Proficiency in EPLAN for electrical design - CRITICAL
• HND or equivalent qualification in an electrical engineering discipline
• Experience with control panel wiring and layout design
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and industrial automation
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative R&D environments
Desirable:
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with Siemens PLC hardware
• Knowledge of wiring harness design and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
• Experience delivering projects in sustainability-focused or clean energy industries
