The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work as part of the flexible team to provide technical and engineering support in order to keep the site running efficiently, identifying areas for engineering improvements to enhance quality, efficiency and safety, whilst still operating with regard to current legislative compliance.
You will be working closely with the automation equipment from suppliers in Europe, developing knowledge that will enable you to get involved with the machinery and equipment.
Reliability of production equipment is essential, and this is where you will play an ongoing key role by:
Ensuring production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum, completing planned and
preventative maintenance for a wide variety of equipment including but not limited to;
Siemens PLC system, conveyor system, boiler and steam system, depositors, packing
system, robotic tray sealing machine, jet printer etc.
Managing reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns
Completing the daily striping down and rebuilding of machines once cleaned by colleagues
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety operating procedures, and ensuring company and customer technical standards are maintained
Contributing to the construction of a planned preventative maintenance programme
Identifying improvements and carrying out the improvement plan
Training and mentoring newer members of the team as it evolves
The Package
As a MSK Engineer working at our clients brand-new manufacturing facility on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, you will benefit from:
Permanent contract with full time hours, which initially will be 8 hour shifts 5 days per week
Starting salary in the region of £44,000 to £48,000 with the level dependent on skills,
experience and qualifications. A higher salary may be negotiable for a candidate with
significant relevant engineering experience within the food production sector.
Paid overtime, where available
22 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Time given in lieu of where Bank Holiday worked.
About you :
Proven experience with planned and preventative intervention maintenance, preferably
gained within a food manufacturing business
Experience with PLC systems and automated robotics machinery
Exceptional electrical fault finding and problem-solving skills
Understanding of PPM systems in an FMCG environment
Qualified to at least minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
Proactive and flexible approach to work, prepared to be hands on as part of the wider team
