Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Location: Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Wigan, Kirkby, St Helens

Salary: £,40,000 – £43,500

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining and servicing high-speed automated machinery, equipment, and robotic systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency while adhering to safety and performance standards.

Key skills required for the Maintenance Engineer vacancy:

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on automated production machinery, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

  • Work closely with the engineering and production teams to identify and implement improvements for increased efficiency and reliability.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate maintenance records.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues to develop long-term solutions.

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and automation systems.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical support to other departments as needed.

    The suitable candidate for Maintenance Engineer will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • Apprentice-trained electrical or mechanical engineer, with a minimum Level 3 qualification.

  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably within a fast-paced, automated, or robotics-based environment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical fault finding

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to breakdowns.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
