Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Barnstaple, Devon
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (Early finish Fridays at 2PM)
Relocation Support Available

We’re seeking a forward-thinking Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Barnstaple. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with a passion for automation and robotics, and a solid foundation in PLCs, HMIs, and lean manufacturing. You’ll play a key role in enhancing production capabilities and supporting business transformation projects across our manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Develop and implement automated and robotic solutions to boost production efficiency.
Continuously evaluate and optimise manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot technical production issues to reduce downtime.
Apply lean tools and best practices to improve value stream performance.
Ensure manufacturing teams have the right documentation, information, and tools.
Contribute technical expertise to investment and transformation initiatives.
What We’re Looking For

Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical manufacturing experience.
Proficiency with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
Strong knowledge of lean principles: VSM, JIT, Kaizen, SMED, 5S, TPM, and more.
Practical experience with automation, robotics, and high-precision tooling.
Familiarity with CAM software (Edge-cam, Inventor, AutoCAD).
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Understanding of quality and safety standards in manufacturing.
Desirable Extras

Experience with Robotic Operating Systems (e.g. Fanuc, ABB).
Knowledge of modern cutting tool technologies.
Flexibility for occasional business travel.
