The vacancy
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as an MES Engineer at our new state-of-the-art facility based at the I54 Business Park in Wolverhampton.
In a nutshell, you will be responsible for defining, developing, integrating, and supporting Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions across our i54 facility. You’ll collaborate with engineers, managers, supervisors, and operators to deliver data-driven applications and hardware implementations that enhance our manufacturing processes and continuous improvement culture.
What you are already great at:
Leading the definition, development, testing, and integration of MES solutions.
Designing and developing front-end MES applications using Ignition by Inductive Automation.
Supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining existing MES applications and hardware.
Integrating MES with ERP data to drive faster, smarter decision-making.
Developing SQL-based reports and dashboards using MES and operational data.
Working closely with controls engineers to develop robust data acquisition systems.
Integrating data historians to enable future machine learning capabilities.
Managing day-to-day MES issues and supporting the wider team in resolving them.
Providing technical support to ensure manufacturing issues are addressed promptly (including some off-shift support).
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
Proven experience in delivering data-driven MES or SCADA solutions.
Strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, HTML, and ERP integration.
Experience developing user interfaces in Ignition by Inductive Automation (certification desirable).
5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, with at least 4 years in MES development.
Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills.
A strong understanding of programming, application development, and Windows-based systems.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities.
