Auxtronic is partnered with a global leader in the manufacture of snack food and confectionary products that is currently offering an exciting career opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Manchester bakery.
With a staggering £2.2 billion in annual turnover, 34 global sites and a proud workforce of over 2,600 staff, they are one of the largest, most recognised and most adored confectionery producers in the world.
Within the UK they manufacture over 300 different products including household favourites such as Chocolate & Caramel Digestives, Rich Tea biscuits, Jaffa cakes, Go Ahead bars, Flipz, BN and Hobnobs. They are constantly investing in product development and have recently released the White Chocolate digestives which have been very popular throughout the nation and are manufactured on site.
Having recently invested £25M in state of the art production line machinery, this site is expanding its capabilities and by mid 2025 will increase production by allowing for Club bars to also be produced.

Role briefing
Our client requires a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer that can help maintain a high speed, fully automated bakery that manufactures Jaffa Cakes, Milk and White Chocolate digestives, Hobnobs and Club Bars.
They have a multitude of assets on site including Conveyors, Ovens, Packaging machinery, Vision inspection, weighing systems, pallet wrappers, liquid filling machines, dryers, seasoning machines and robots.
The role requires 60% Electrical and 40% Mechanical Maintenance with a combination of both breakdown support and PPM maintenance.

  • 70% PPM Maintenance
  • 30% Breakdown Maintenance
    Hiring requirements:
  • City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
  • 5 Years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a high speed manufacturing environment, ideally Food or FMCG.
  • Mechanical and Electrical skills required with a strong competency in fault finding and repairing machinery.
