Our client are a dynamic and innovative leader in automation, robotics, and system integration. Specialising in complete dynamic automation projects for their customers, designing and installing complete machines, robot cells, software modifications, and bespoke tooling for various industrial applications. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a highly motivated and versatile Electro-Mechanical Engineer / Multiskilled Engineering to join their team.

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, fabricating, and troubleshooting advanced automation solutions. You’ll work across electrical and mechanical disciplines, collaborating with our talented team to deliver innovative and reliable systems. They have customers all over the UK and some in Europe. On the odd occasion there may be a requirement to work away during the week, sometimes with a colleague and sometimes by yourself, hence the need to not only be a good team player but also just as comfortable working on your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and wire control panels for automation systems and robotic applications

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications

  • Program PLCs (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)

  • Support control and automation systems

  • Control panel build

  • Use drilling, grinding, welding, and other fabrication skills to build mechanical components and structures

  • Collaborate with design teams to bring mechanical concepts to life

    Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

  • Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in machinery and control panels

  • Implement effective troubleshooting techniques to minimise downtime

  • Develop creative solutions for engineering challenges

    Qualifications & Skills

  • Able to program PLCs (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)

  • Proven experience in designing and wiring control panels

  • Strong mechanical fabrication skills, including welding, grinding, and drilling

  • Solid understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting abilities

  • Experience with cable management and installation

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Ideally a background in Maintenance Engineering within Food / FMCG
