Contek are working with an engineering client that operates from a 28,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility. Making use of a wide range of the very latest machining cells including Multi Pallet Horizontal Milling, Multi Axis Mill-Turn Machining, Robotic and Bar Fed Lathes through to Swiss style Sliding Head Lathes to provide a flexible, competitive and reliable production solution.

Two sides of the business, comprising of sub-contract machining for various industries including Automotive, Hydraulics and Defence - to Medical assembly of components within ISO13485 standards.

Through growth, on the Medical side - they are looking to expand the team, and are looking for a Senior within Quality to lead the small quality team (Current team of 2 - and total of 50 members of staff). Whether you are a Quality Engineer/Lead, you will be considered for this position.

Generally a 37.5hr working core hour week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) in collaboration including improving and documenting procedures.

  • Control of ISO certification within IS09001 and ISO13485

  • Conduct internal audits assisting outsourced auditors of the QMS to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Hands on within a small team - Inspect and measure precision parts to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.

  • First offs checked & signed off accordingly.

  • Calibration of all tools assigned to the quality documents.

  • Random inspections on each process / operation throughout each day.

  • Update Bills of Material (BOM) for both simple and complex assemblies.

  • ISIR’s & PPAP when required.

  • Working closely with Engineering to update drawings accordingly.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily production issues on the shop floor & apply preventive measurements where possible.

  • Reporting, present monthly reviews on each department for performance, extracted from our MRP system.

  • H&S awareness, culture the team in good understanding on what’s good & bad working practices.

  • Lead and manage the quality for the team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of quality are maintained at all times.

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and policies to enhance overall product quality.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure procedures & quality standards are met throughout the production process.

  • Review each department for performance & investigate problematic areas of concern.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead a team and work independently towards set targets and goals.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Extensive experience with QMS, including procedure creation, documentation, and internal audits.

  • Proven track record in inspecting parts produced through CNC machining and Assembly.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook).

  • Ideally the use of working with FAIRS, PPAP & ISIR’s Documentation
