ROBOTICS ENGINEER REQUIRED IN SHROPSHIRE!!!

This is working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (with an early afternoon finish on a Friday), and the role comes with an annual salary between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE), the hiring manager is looking for someone who will be based in the office 5 days per week, there is an opportunity to work from home 1 day per week every 2 weeks, and a relocation package can be offered for someone who lives more than 2 hours away from Shropshire and is prepared to move to the area.

The hiring manager is looking for someone who has experience with ROS2 or ROS, as well as someone who is proficient in programming languages such as C++ or Python, someone who has previously worked as a Robotics Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer or Software Engineer who has experience with ROS, ROS2, C++ or Python would be well received.

We are looking for someone who holds a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or a related field.

What You Will Do:

Design and implement perception algorithms for robotics and autonomous systems, focusing on object detection, tracking, and classification.
Develop and optimise sensor fusion techniques, integrating data from cameras, LiDAR, radar, and IMU sensors.
Create ML/AI models for scene understanding, semantic segmentation, and obstacle detection to enhance robotic decision-making.
Integrate autonomous navigation solutions using the ROS2 Navigation Stack, enhancing robotic perception, planning, and control.
Develop and implement 3D mapping algorithms to create accurate, real-time maps of outdoor environments.
Ensure real-time performance of perception modules on robotic platforms, optimising algorithms for embedded systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine system architecture and conduct thorough testing and validation.
Document designs, workflows, and best practices to ensure seamless knowledge sharing and implementation.
What You Will Bring:

Essential Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years experience in C++ software development for embedded systems.
Experience with ROS or ROS2.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with familiarity in CUDA for GPU acceleration.
Full UK Driving License.
Advantageous / Preferred Requirements:

Proficiency in perception and computer vision techniques, including OpenCV, image processing, and 3D point cloud processing.
Hands-on expertise with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, and knowledge of CNNs, RNNs, and transformer-based architectures.
Experience in autonomous vehicles, drones, or industrial robotics, along with knowledge of simulation tools such as Gazebo or CARLA.
