Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Basic + Overtime (£75,000 - £80,000 OTE)

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading automation and material handling specialist seeking a Software Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team based in Haslingden, Rossendale.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile automation projects across the UK and internationally. With a basic salary of up to £50,000 and realistic overtime earnings of around £30,000 per year, this role offers genuine earning potential alongside exciting worldwide travel opportunities.

The Role

As a Software Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning, testing and optimising automated systems at customer sites throughout the UK and overseas.

You'll play a key role in bringing complex automation projects to life, working closely with controls engineers, project teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission PLC and automated control systems on customer sites

• Test, troubleshoot and optimise automation equipment

• Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

• Diagnose and resolve software and controls issues

• Support installation and commissioning activities worldwide

• Produce commissioning documentation and technical reports

• Liaise directly with customers and project stakeholders

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Software Commissioning Engineer, Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer

• Strong PLC experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar)

• Experience commissioning automated machinery, material handling systems or industrial automation equipment

• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Strong customer-facing communication skills

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally
