Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 13:00

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for your next career move? This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering and automation business, playing a key role in the design, build, commissioning, and integration of automated assembly equipment for the automotive sector.

The Role

You will take ownership of electrical systems across a variety of automated/robotic assembly lines, from panel building and wiring through to validation, integration, and safety sign-off. This role is hands-on and varied, covering everything from machine wiring and debugging, through to mentoring apprentices and supporting customers both on-site and off-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications

  • Machine wiring, panel building, and sensor setup

  • Power-on and debug activities, troubleshooting electrical systems

  • Validation, testing, and full ownership of safety sign-off documentation

  • Create and maintain product bills of materials

  • Provide technical expertise and act as point of escalation

  • Support customer site installation and problem-solving

  • Train and mentor electrical apprentices

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations

  • About You

  • We’re looking for someone with a strong mix of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and leadership qualities

    Essential:

  • Recognised City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualification

  • At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in electrical engineering

  • Proficiency in wiring, troubleshooting, and updating electrical systems

  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and blueprint reading

  • Hands-on experience with electrical tools and equipment

    Desirable:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive tooling and integration

  • Previous experience within Tier 1 automotive

  • Proven people management, training, or supervisory experience

    Personal Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to work collaboratively and at pace to meet project goals

  • Flexible to travel within Europe and beyond when required

  • Demonstrable leadership skills and a “can-do” attitude
