Role: Machine Operator

Start Date: Immediate Start

Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay: £14 - £16 p/hour (DOE)

Contract: Permanent, subject to a successful 3-month probation period

A thriving fabrication company in Mildenhall is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join their expanding team. This hands-on role focuses on operating, maintaining, and optimising automated welding systems to produce high-quality metal components.

Duties:

Set up and operate robotic welding cells, loading components and selecting welding programs

Monitor welding robots to ensure accurate, repeatable welds and detect any anomalies

Conduct quality inspections using tools like calipers or gauges to verify welds meet specifications

Perform routine maintenance: clean nozzles, replace contact tips/liners, and maintain wire feed systems

Troubleshoot minor mechanical faults or software alarms to maintain production flow

Record production data, material usage, and maintenance logs accuratelySkills Required:

Proven welding experience (MIG, TIG, or MAG) - welding qualification or demonstrable hands-on experience essential

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols

Familiarity with industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, KUKA) and teach pendants advantageous

Mechanical aptitude for using hand tools and lifting components up to 20-25kg

Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentPay, Hours & Benefits:
