We’re working with a large pan-European manufacturing business which operates 7 days a week that is actively seeking to add an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Electrician to join one of its site Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.

Shift Maintenance Engineer

40 hours per week - Triple Shift or Permanent Nights (plus overtime)

Location: Nr Eastbourne, Sussex

Salary: Dependent on Experience

The position’s responsibilities are:

* Reactive Maintenance on automated production, printing, packaging or finishing machinery

* Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) - Input to and carry out preventive maintenance routines

* Mechanical fault finding

* Electrical fault finding with and without diagrams (three phase and control systems)

* Fault finding and repair on hydraulic or pneumatic systems

* Small installation projects

* Continuous Improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency

* To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including transit areas to and from the workshop, the workshop and stores

* Support the Operations team in achieving targets

* Complying to the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures

* Contributing to cost effective technical solutions

* Deliver to the operational expectations

* Be part of a weekend call-out rota

To be successful, we would like you to have:

* A recognised industrial Electrical qualification 18th Edition and Level 3 Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)

* Have experience working as a Maintenance Engineer or as a dedicated Multiskilled or Electrical Engineer in a Manufacturing environment.

* Experience in the print, packaging or associated industries would be great but is not essential. But experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment is critical.

* Strong electrical fault-finding skill in particular on PLC’s, drives and inverters

* Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills

* Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams

* Experience with maintenance PPM and RM programmes.

* Ideally experience working with highly skilled Operators or Technicians.

* Have good communication, organisational and team work skills.

* Self motivation, ability to apply initiative and determination.

Specific training where required will be provided, OEM suppliers and via remote modem diagnostic support from the OEM.
