Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

Location: Lichfield

Salary: £51,000 + overtime at 1.5x

Shifts: Panama Shift – 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights) | 4On/5Off, 5On/5Off, 4On/4Off

The Company:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading UK food manufacturing site. The site produces high-quality, ready-to-eat food products for major UK retailers and is currently undergoing significant investment in cutting-edge technology, including advanced sorting systems, automated packing lines, and robotic handling equipment.

With over 400 staff onsite and a strong commitment to training, the business offers excellent long-term career prospects, including OEM training and specialist machine courses to continually upskill its engineering team.

The Role:

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), you’ll be key to keeping production moving in a fast-paced, high-care manufacturing environment. You will:

• Carry out electrical fault finding down to component level (invertors, relays, contactors, sensors, drives).

• Undertake mechanical work such as replacing bearings, motors, shafts, and rollers.

• Fault-find on PLC I/Os (no programming required).

• Use the CMMS system to complete PPMs and log work carried out.

• Maintain a variety of production machinery, including slicers, dicers, shredders, multi-head weighers, baggers, metal detectors, and conveyors.

About You:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

• Strong electrical skills, ideally a 60/40 split in favour of electrical work.

• Confident in working on electrical systems and comfortable with both planned and reactive maintenance.

Why Apply?

If you want to work with a variety of modern and legacy equipment, have access to excellent overtime opportunities, and develop your skills with industry-leading training, this is a great chance to join a forward-thinking manufacturer investing heavily in its site and people.

ATA is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of age, disability, gender, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation
