Location: Ripley
Salary: £53,482 (inclusive of shift premium)
Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation (06:00–14:15 / 14:00–22:15 / 22:00–06:15)

We are recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) on behalf of a well-established, market-leading manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team within a fast-paced production environment.

The Role


As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of plant equipment through effective fault finding, breakdown response, and planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns across plant and machinery
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and asset care activities
  • Work across a range of equipment including automated machinery, robotics, and site services
  • Use a CMMS system to log work, track performance, and manage maintenance tasks
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
Essential Requirements
  • Apprenticeship-trained / time-served engineer with an electrical bias
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong experience of breakdown response and fault finding
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate maintenance experience within your CV
