New Opportunity - Experienced Structural Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our client's growing engineering team. You will be responsible for the analysis and design of industrial steel structures, with a particular focus on connection and seismic design.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, and industrial energy projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.

You will apply your expertise in design code calculations (ASCE 7, Eurocode 3) to deliver robust, compliant, and practical solutions, supporting both internal teams and external clients.

As the new Structural Design Engineer, you will:

Perform structural analysis and design of steel frame, braced, and portal-frame structures for energy-related facilities (e.g., process plants, gas-turbine installations, modular structures)

Carry out connection design, foundation design, and seismic analysis using first principles and recognised software

Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards (Eurocodes, ASCE 7, AISC, API)

Review and interpret client specifications, drawings, and requirements

Prepare and review drawings, 3D models, and documentation in collaboration with CAD/drafting teams

Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders

Contribute to R&D, best practices, and continuous improvement within the design team Key requirements for this role:

Degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (minimum 2:1)

3+ years of structural design experience (6+ years for Senior roles)

Strong experience with steel frame analysis, connection design, and seismic considerations

Proficiency with structural analysis software (Autodesk Robot, ETABS, STAAD Pro, TEKLA)

Experience with mathematical calculations using Microsoft Excel, Mathcad, or similar

Solid understanding of steel structures, structural detailing, and CDM regulations

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Desirable Skills and Experience:

Chartered status or working towards ICE/IStructE chartership

Experience designing fabricated steel shell structures

Familiarity with FEA, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, IDEA StatiCa

Understanding of manufacturing techniques and modular construction components About you:

Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to quality and safety

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Willing to travel internationally and work out of hours if required

Full UK driving licence and current UK residency About this role:

Competitive salary with performance bonuses

Sponsorship support for eligible candidates

Collaborative and supportive work environment

Career development and training opportunities

Robotics Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and skills for engineers and researchers in manufacturing, logistics, autonomous vehicles, defence and healthcare. In the UK, most robotics jobs cluster around hubs such as London, Cambridge, Bristol, Oxford, Manchester and Edinburgh, with common titles including Robotics Engineer, SLAM Engineer, Controls Engineer and Mechatronics Engineer. The most efficient way to browse live robotics jobs is via specialist boards like RoboticsJobs.co.uk, which curate roles specifically in this field so you are not lost in generic tech listings. This guide covers everything you need to know about robotics jobs in the UK in 2026, from the roles and skills in demand to where to find live opportunities and how to stand out as a candidate.

Where to Advertise Robotics Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise robotics jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, university channels and community routes that reach robotics, SLAM and controls talent. The candidate pool spans mechanical engineers, software developers, controls specialists, computer vision researchers and systems integrators — a multidisciplinary mix that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest robotics candidates are often embedded in research groups, defence programmes or advanced manufacturing environments, and move between roles through specialist networks and industry events rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by RoboticsJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise robotics roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
