Controls Engineer - Robotics | £50,000 | Newcastle | Junior Considered

KO2's client, a leading and fast-growing robotics business based in Newcastle, is looking to hire an ambitious Controls Engineer to join their cutting-edge engineering team. With exciting new projects across industrial automation, automotive systems, and defence applications, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation shaping the future of robotics.

While the company is ideally seeking an experienced engineer, they are also open to considering a junior-level candidate who demonstrates strong potential, a passion for controls, and a desire to grow and develop within the role.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and brings expertise in the following areas:

Essential Skills:

Hands-on experience with PLC integration, ideally in an automotive, industrial, or defence setting.
Proficient in structured text, ladder logic, and function block diagrams.
Understanding of control system design and development workflows.
Ability to work on software development for PLCs and integrate with wider system architectures.Desirable Experience:

Design and optimisation of enclosures, wiring harnesses, and PCBs for automotive or industrial systems.
Familiarity with EMC, thermal, vibration, and environmental constraints in control system design.
Experience with E3 or similar CAD tools for harness design and system integration.Why Join?
