Controls Engineer

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Location: South Birmingham

Our client designs and delivers innovative robotic and automation systems for various manufacturing. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team and help develop and deliver advanced automation projects.

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, programming, and implementation of automated systems and robotic solutions. You will work closely with project leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems from concept through to completion

  • Write PLC, HMI, and robot software in line with company standards (Omron PLCs and Fanuc robots preferred).

  • Support project planning, component specification, and procurement.

  • Communicate progress and resolve issues to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Assist in the preparation of manuals, technical documentation, and system compliance.

  • Work to ISO 9001 and CE/UKCA safety standards.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of company design and build standards.
