Job Title: Fabrication Shop Foreman
Location: Leicester
Salary: £35,000 to 45,000l per annum depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Role Overview:

Our client is looking to appoint a hands-on and experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day running of our fabrication department. This is a key leadership role that will ensure projects are delivered on time, to spec, and in line with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of welders, fabricators, and general operatives on the shop floor

Allocate work to ensure daily and weekly production targets are met

Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule

Read and interpret fabrication drawings and offer technical support where needed

Carry out in-process quality checks to ensure finished work meets specifications

Monitor staff performance and provide training and development where appropriate

Maintain a safe and well-organised working environment in line with HSE guidelines

Liaise closely with production planners, engineers, and management to resolve issues and keep work flowing

Drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency across the department

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a metal fabrication environment

Strong working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes (MIG Welding, Robot Welding, Fabrication, Folding etc.)

Ability to read engineering drawings and lead by example in a hands-on role

Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills

Good understanding of health & safety procedures

Comfortable with problem-solving and working to deadlines

Preferred:

Forklift licence

NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent
