Rotating Shifts: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm (Monday – Friday)

5S Recruitment is supporting a well-established plastic injection moulding manufacturer based in Kings Norton, Birmingham in their search for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter / Process Technician to join their production team.

The site is easily accessible from Redditch, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Dudley and surrounding West Midlands manufacturing areas, making it a strong opportunity for experienced moulding technicians looking for a stable role within a structured mould shop environment. This is a hands-on technical role, focused on setting machines, carrying out tool changes and optimising moulding processes to ensure production runs efficiently.Experienced Injection Moulding Setters currently working within plastics manufacturing are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role

*

Setting and optimising plastic injection moulding machines to meet production and quality targets

*

Carrying out tool changes and machine start-ups in line with production schedules

*

Supporting new tool trials and process improvements

*

Setting and optimising robots and ancillary moulding equipment to maximise output

*

Producing first-off samples for quality approval prior to production release

*

Completing machine restarts once trained and authorised

*

Carrying out TPM activities and basic fault finding

*

Writing and following process setting sheets and robot programs

*

Maintaining strong 5S and housekeeping standards across the mould shop

*

Supporting improvements in OEE, scrap reduction and process stability

*

Liaising with maintenance engineers where more complex faults arise

Candidate Requirements

*

Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter, Process Technician or Moulding Technician

*

Strong understanding of plastic injection moulding processes and tooling changes

*

Experience working with robots and moulding ancillary equipment

*

Ability to follow process documentation, setting sheets and quality standards

*

Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to troubleshooting

*

Reliable with a team-focused attitude
