Shift Pattern: Rotating 12-hour Shifts – Days & Nights

We’re supporting our client, a global, leading injection moulding company based in Sutton Coldfield, who are looking for an Injection Moulding Setter to join their growing team. The successful Injection Moulding Setter will have previous experience of working in a large Mould shop, as well as a good level of processing knowledge.

Job Summary: As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be responsible for production Setting of Injection Moulding equipment to Standard processes, Production output, product quality, tool condition and daily achievement of the production plan within the Injection Moulding Section of Plastic Processing. Ownership of relevant measures such as OEE, line efficiency, operator utilisation, quality and conformance. To assist in developing and fostering a continuous improvement culture, continually seeking out cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities for Injection Moulding Setter:

  • Responsible for the Setting of all equipment on Injection Moulding Lines including tools and ancillary equipment as directed by Team Co-Ordinator, within required time periods.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Injection Moulding lines are running efficiently

  • Responsible for KPIs: OEE, Line efficiency, quality and conformance.

  • Responsible for the completion and recording of all Quality checks as specified by the Quality Department.

  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all Injection Moulding Tooling ensuring they are suitable for the tasks required.

  • Responsible for the training of all machine operators to do the task they are required to perform

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment ensuring all gangways are kept free from hazards and all componentry and equipment is stored in the correct location.

  • Responsible for ensuring all quality standards are met and appropriate departments informed of non-conformities

  • Responsible for ensuring all work is completed safely and with relevant authorisation

  • Assist in all areas of setting within Plastic Processing during busy periods

  • Support CIT activities on the shop floor

  • Assist Process Technicians in establishing moulding parameters and improving efficiencies

  • Assist in Maintaining and updating moulding parameters and register

  • Assist in the repair of equipment with Maintenance technicians / Toolmakers who do not have the necessary skills to operate / set equipment

  • Assist and support contractors to carry out occasional work from time to time

  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out on all equipment

  • Identify machinery / equipment not fit for purpose and propose cost effective solutions to ensure activity can still be carried out

    About You:

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative required to fulfil the role successfully

  • Ability to listen and communicate across all departments

  • Awareness of manufacturing pressures and needs to keep equipment operating

  • Trained in Injection Moulding Setting

  • Qualified to use Hoists / Lifting equipment

  • Good mechanical knowledge

  • Fault Recognition

  • Robotic Experience

  • Different moulding material characteristics

  • People skills - can deal with situations to ensure outside influences do not effect performance of department

  • Awareness to permanently resolve all equipment inefficiencies

  • Awareness of Blow Moulding and Extrusion Processes
