Innovo Global Talent is currently working with a world-leading provider of material handling, automation, and logistics solutions, supporting industries such as manufacturing, warehousing, e-commerce, airports, and automotive. With a global presence across more than 20 countries, the company delivers innovative systems that enhance productivity, efficiency, and operational performance. In the UK, it partners with a wide range of clients to design, install, and maintain cutting-edge conveyor, storage, and automated handling systems, backed by strong engineering expertise and reliable after-sales service.

Purpose of Role

  • To drive new business development and manage key existing accounts for material handling, automation, and intralogistics system solutions in the UK market.

  • To contribute to meeting/exceeding revenue and margin targets, increase market share, and build long-term client relationships.

  • To act as a trusted liaison between the customer and the technical/engineering teams (given the technical nature of the systems).

    Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and win new clients in the UK/ROI (for example, warehouses, distribution centres, airports, manufacturing plants) for automation and material handling solutions.

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers, ensuring their requirements are understood and being met, and maximise upsell/cross-sell opportunities (e.g., service contracts, spare parts, system upgrades).

  • Work closely with internal teams (engineering, project management, operations, service) to ensure effective bid/tender responses, proposals, and seamless handover to delivery.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipelines, and account plans; report on sales KPIs; monitor competitive activity and market trends.

  • Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and industry events to promote the company’s brand and capabilities, and to network with prospects.

  • Maintain CRM records, track leads through the pipeline, prepare quotations, and negotiate commercial terms in line with company policies.

  • Ensure margin targets are met, terms & conditions are correctly managed, and any contract risks are addressed prior to signing.

  • Travel as required (client visits, site surveys, trade shows) and stay updated on developments in automation/warehouse material handling technologies.

    Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in B2B sales (typically 3–5+ years) in automation, intralogistics, material handling, robotics, or a related engineering solution business.

  • Strong technical acumen: ability to understand automation systems, convey technical concepts to business decision-makers, and work with engineers.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills (face-to-face, online, via phone/email).

  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract signature.

  • Experience working with bids/tenders and preparing proposals.

  • Good commercial awareness: understanding of margin/profitability, contract terms, and risk management.

  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and resilient; comfortable working to targets.

  • Willingness to travel across the UK and possibly internationally; full UK driving licence preferred

Robotics Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Need To Know About Today’s Hiring Process

Summary: UK robotics hiring has shifted from toolbox checklists to capability‑driven evaluation that emphasises deployed systems, safety, reliability and total cost of ownership. Employers want proof you can ship and sustain robots in production—industrial arms & cobots, AMRs/AGVs, field robots, surgical/med‑tech, warehouse automation, inspection & maintenance. This guide explains what’s changed, what to expect in interviews and how to prepare—especially for robotics software engineers (ROS/ROS 2), perception/vision engineers, controls & motion planners, mechatronics & embedded, safety & compliance, test/V&V, DevOps/SRE for fleets, and robotics product managers. Who this is for: Robotics software/perception/controls engineers, mechatronics & embedded, simulation & test, DevOps/SRE for robotics fleets, HRI/UX, safety/compliance, field/commissioning engineers, and product/technical programme managers in the UK.

Why Robotics Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Robotics used to be the domain of mechanical, electrical and software engineers. In the UK today, robotics is more than motors and control loops — it’s about perception, interaction, trust, regulation and integration into human environments. That evolution means robotics careers are becoming more multidisciplinary. Modern robots interact with people, collect data, operate under constraints, and often assist in safety-critical environments (healthcare, manufacturing, transport). So engineers now collaborate closely with legal, ethical, psychological, linguistic and design experts. In this article, we explore why UK robotics careers are evolving into multidisciplinary roles, how law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design intersect with robotics, and how job-seekers and employers can adapt to this shift.

Robotics Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Robotics Department

Robotics is transforming manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, agriculture, entertainment and more. In the UK, advances in robotics span autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), robotic arms, surgical robotics, drone systems, human-robot interaction, and collaborative robots (cobots). Building effective robotics systems requires not only strong hardware and software, but also finely coordinated teams with clear roles from research through deployment and maintenance. If you’re a candidate applying for robotics roles or an employer hiring through RoboticsJobs.co.uk, this guide will help you understand who does what in a mature robotics department, how the lifecycle of a robotics product works, what skills and qualifications UK employers typically expect, what salaries look like, common challenges, and best practices for structuring teams that deliver.
