Excellent opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer with PLC and SCADA experience to join an industry leader offering the chance to work on cutting-edge technology, contribute to global projects, and develop your skills within a highly technical R&D environment.

This company are a global powerhouse in their field, known for world-class manufacturing, pioneering technology, and a long-standing reputation for innovation. Their R&D Process Control team plays a vital role in developing and rolling out advanced inspection and process control systems across international operations, forming a key part of their digitalisation and automation strategy.

In this role you will work across the full lifecycle of process control systems - from concept through to implementation. You'll develop SCADA systems, program PLCs, create and enhance advanced control techniques (including PID, AI, and machine learning approaches), and support instrumentation and inspection tools used across global manufacturing sites. You'll collaborate with cross-functional R&D and production teams to drive process improvements, troubleshoot complex challenges, and support both on-site and remote operations. Some occasional overseas travel may be required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial process control, be strong with PLC and SCADA systems, and have a solid understanding of electrical/electronic principles. Candidates must have full right to work in the UK, be commutable to Lathom, and have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and good project/time management capabilities.

The Role:

*Developing and enhancing process control systems from concept to implementation

*PLC programming, SCADA development, and advanced control techniques (including AI/ML)

*Delivering instrumentation and inspection solutions to support global operations

*Providing technical support, system upgrades, and occasional overseas travel

The Person:

*Experience in industrial process control and PLC/SCADA systems

*Engineering Degree (2:1 or above preferred)

*Logical problem solver with strong communication skills

*Commutable to Lathom and full right to work in the UK
