Contract Role | On-site - 5 days per week

We are currently seeking an experienced Layout Engineer to support site-based automation and continuous improvement activities at our facility. This is a hands-on, on-site contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor and proactively resolving layout and deployment challenges.

The contract rate is open, and we are evaluating candidates based on experience and rate expectations.

Contract duration: 3-6 months

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in facility layout development, with a strong focus on AGV route control and updates. This position requires someone practical and adaptable, capable of manually taking measurements on site and acting as a general all-rounder to support deployment and layout-related needs.

Key Responsibilities

Create, update, and manage 2D CAD facility layouts to support automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects

Design, maintain, and update AGV routing layouts, ensuring safe navigation, clear pathways, and integration with existing workflows

Update machining and equipment layouts to reflect changes in process flow, tooling, and automation requirements

Work closely with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements and translate them into accurate CAD deliverables

Support facility planning, including evaluation of spatial constraints, equipment placement, and infrastructure needs

Maintain revision control, accuracy, and consistency across all layout documentation

Provide technical support on site during installation, commissioning, and layout or automation changes Skills & Experience

Proficiency in 2D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)

Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, automation systems, and material flow

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, process flows, and facility requirements

Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
