With a strong international presence, decades of experience, and a reputation for innovation, our client designs, manufactures, and implements state-of-the-art automation systems for customers across multiple industries, from e-commerce and retail to FMCG and pharmaceuticals.

They are now seeking a Technical Sales Manager to expand their UK footprint and win new customers through solution-based sales. This is an exciting opportunity to work with complex, high-value automation projects in a consultative sales environment.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will drive business growth by:

Leading solution-based sales engagements, understanding customer challenges, and shaping tailored automation solutions.

*

Developing new business opportunities within the UK, targeting industries such as e-commerce, retail, FMCG, 3PL, and manufacturing.

*

Working with solution engineers and project teams to create proposals, layouts, and ROI-driven business cases.

*

Managing the end-to-end sales cycle – from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and contract closure.

*

Building long-term customer partnerships, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor in warehouse automation.

*

Keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activity, feeding insights back to the wider business.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced solution-based sales professional with a proven track record in selling automation or complex capital equipment solutions:

*

5+ years’ experience in solution sales, consultative sales, or technical business development.

*

Strong background in automation, robotics, material handling, or warehouse technology.

*

Ability to sell value-driven, high-value projects rather than transactional products.

*

Comfortable engaging with stakeholders from operations teams through to C-level executives.

*

Strong technical and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret system layouts and processes.

*

Resilient, proactive, and motivated by winning new business.

*

Willingness to travel extensively across the UK (with some European travel).

What’s on Offer

*

Competitive base salary + commission/bonus structure.

*

Company car/allowance and full expenses package.

*

Continuous training and development in advanced automation technologies.

*

Opportunity to work with a globally recognised leader in warehouse automation.

*

Clear progression path in a high-growth organisation
