The Role – Field Service Manager, Metrology & Microscopy

This market leader now seeks to recruit a technically astute Field Service Manager, to manage their worldwide service operation based from their UK office.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a small team of Worldwide Customer Service Engineers, building and nurturing all relationships with key customers, regularly attending meetings and providing customer care, ensuring the delivery of KPI’s, including resource utilisation, PPM delivery, team and customer satisfaction and financial delivery within set budgets. The successful incumbent will also be an instrumental driving force in attempts to grow and develop all service revenues throughout their operation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage, coach and develop the Customer Support engineer team

· Provide technical support and guidance to Customer Support engineers in the field

· Manage the resolution of faults on products at customer sites and in-house

· Manage and plan the installation, & maintenance of products at customer sites and in-house

· Monitor the performance and up-time of all company products

· Work with Engineering and Production to determine the root cause of faults and implement reliability improvements.

· Travelling to customer sites across Europe, USA and Asia, travel may reach 20% and be at short as well as planned notice.

Your Background – Field Service Manager, Metrology & Microscopy

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in physical sciences, Engineering discipline or equivalent

· Related experience of at least 5 years

· Experience in field service, technical support and CRM systems

· Experience of mechanical, electronic and optical systems

· Quality management system experience

· Fluency in written and oral technical English with excellent presentation skills

Desirable

· Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams in a small company environment

· Experience of working with any or all of the following; robotics; optical systems including lasers and fibres; electronics; electro-mechanics and vacuum systems
