Robotics and automation are the future and as a successful market leading systems integrator and software developer, we design and sell high value automated handling solutions to major blue chip FMCG, retail, food and beverage warehouse, distribution and logistics markets. Expanding the team and continuing the growth this Business Development Manager role will require you to generate new business from existing and new clients with full in-house technical support backing you up at every stage of the sales process.
 
BASIC SALARY: £70,000 - £80,000
 
BENEFITS:
· c£25,000 bonus paid annually

LOCATION: Home based but covering the whole UK ideally with in 90 minutes of Northampton  
 
COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Birmingham, Leicester, Milton, Keynes, Nottingham, Milton Keynes
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager - automated handling solutions
 
A classic Business Development Manager role finding and winning new business from both existing and new blue-chip organisations. A long sales cycle and very high order values means no set turnover target in the first year.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager - automated handling solutions
 
· Using, and adding to CRM system key target businesses, typically those with labour intensive warehouses / picking (think eCommerce).
· Selling all forms of robotics including conveyors, pick to person AS / RS pallet and sortation to name a few.
· Once a project is 'passed', you'll become the Bid Manager, from concept to completion, bids can take 6-12 months, with a conversation rate of 1:3, you'll be busy.
· Order values vary from £5 - £25m, your assisting business develop into the future.  
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager - automated handling solutions
 
· You MUST have a proven track record of success in high value (multi million) technical solutions or products, and you WILL have sold to the warehouse, distribution and logistics markets.
· You will be willing and able to generate new business. This is NOT an account management role.
· You do NOT need previous experience of automated handling systems to be considered for this role.

NB : The company will consider a salesperson working for a supplier selling components or systems to automated handling systems & solutions providers.
